Transtar 4303 TexCoat Chipguard White . Flexible protective Coating
Tex Coat is a flexible protective coating. Texture can be varied to match OEM textures as found on rocker panels, valances, etc.
Suitable Substrates
• Raw plastic – rigid (SMC, BMC) • Bare steel • 1K primer
• Raw plastic – flex (ABD, PPO) • Bare galvanized • 2K primer
• Raw plastic – soft (PUR) • Bare aluminum • Self etch primer
• Plastic part- primed • OEM E-coat • Body filler
• OEM finish & old paint work – non-reversible
Features
- Tex Coat is a rapid drying, flexible protective coating.
- Texture can be varied to match OEM textures as found on rocker panels, valances, etc.
- Paintable in 30-45 minutes.
- Highly chip resistant.
- Convenient aerosol requires no equipment clean-up.
Surface Prep & Application
- Clean with wax and grease remover.
- Remove existing finish and clean again with wax and grease remover.
- Prepare bare metal with appropriate Transtar metal primer.
- Sand with 220grit.
- Remove sanding dust with Wax and grease.
- Shake Tex Coat can vigorously.
- Apply in 1 – 3 light even coats.
- Film build should be about 3.0mils per coat.
- Total film build should not exceed 8-10 mils. Flash 10-15
- minutes between coats. IMPORTANT: KEEP CAN IN MOTION WHEN APPLYING
- TO AVOID EXCESSIVE FILM BUILD.
- Allow final Tex Coat application to flash 30-60 minutes at 75°F (25°C) before topcoating. Follow manufacturer’s instructions before topcoating.
